NXT TAKEOVER RESULTS! (Posted Live).
I’m in the UK, it’s late. Full Review will be posted Tomorrow!
Sanity Vs Ruby Riot, Roderick Strong, Tye Dillinger AND .. Kassius ONO (taking No Way Hosè’s place)
Result – Sanity Win (Killian Got the pin with the Angel Wings on Tye Dillinger).
GREAT CROWD, GREAT OPENER, I loved that they used Kassius in this match, he looked great here!
Aleister Black vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas
(Tommy Ends WWE Debut!)
Black Wins by hitting the “Black Mass” kick on Almas.
This was a bloody Awesome, it has to be Almas’ best match in NXT so far! Aleister Black looked very very very good in this match, it was a cracking Debut for the now renamed Tommy End!
(Nigel accidentally said he was on Ring Of Honor, Dog haha.)
The Authors of Pain vs. DIY vs. The Revival: Triple-threat elimination match for the NXT Tag Team Championship
Elimination 1 – AOP Pinned Champa, DIY Eliminated.
AOP totally flattened the Revival with the Super Collider Powerbomb combo to retain the NXT Tag Team titles (the new belts look great!
Within a minute we had a table on the scene, Revival AND DIY Put one of the AOP through it later on. AOP wrecked everyone until the table spot then both teams cooperated to take down the AOP out (but not eliminated)! Champa got Superplexed onto everyone else from the top rope the floor! After the elimination, the AOP took firm control and flattened the Revival, hit the Super Collider and Retained the belts. Potentially the best match of the weekend!
Asuka vs. Ember Moon : NXT Women’s Championship
Asuka Beat Ember moon after using the ref to knock Ember from the top rope then Kicked her in the Head.
This way yet another Awesome match on this show. Both women went at it and beat the piss out of each other, Asuka more so with some savage strikes. Ember managed to counter some of Asuka’s signature offense and lay in some big strikes of her own, Dueling chants most of the way through the match, everyone loved this one! Asuka using the Referee to win was a surprise! A Turn for Asuka?… Fantastic match!
(These “results” are getting longer by the post, less work tomorrow I guess!)
Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura : NXT Championship
WOOOAAAHH !! Drew Galloway / MacIntyre on camera, holy SH*T!
(It was confirmed later via ESPN that he has indeed Re-Signed to WWE! This obviously has pretty big implications with the UK scene as he has been one of the biggest stars in that scene recently. A power play by WWE to stop him going to World of Sport maybe? Watch this space I guess.)
Back to the match. Shinsuke’s entrance gave me goosebumps, Roode’s was GLORIOUS!
Another new belt was produced!
A battle of attrition for the first part before Roode took control for a good part of the match. Nakamura fought back with every knee and kick he had but could not take out Roode. This was a Wrestlemania style and quality match, a battle from the start with Nakamura and Roode giving it 100%. Roode countered the Kinshasa and worked on Nakamura’s leg like he did in their previous match, wrapping it round a post then locking in a figure 4 Leg Lock for a few minutes, Shinsuke reversed it for the break but Roode kept on him, focusing on the knee. Nakamura managed to get a sneaky Armbar out of nowhere on Roode for a short while the he started getting some revenge but Roode countered and hit Nakamura’s knee. It devolved into an
It devolved into an all-out slugfest. Both men attempted to hit their finishers but never managed to hit them. Roode hit the Glorious DDT after kicking Nakamura while he was in the ropes but only got a 2.5 count.
Roode went for the bell but Nakamura manages to catch him off guard, he hit Roode with a reverse Exploder suplex for a 2 count, Roode the countered the Kinshasa with a massive forearm for a 2 count on Nakamura, Massive “This is Awesome” Chant.
Nakamura had Roode on the ropes but he managed to hit back with a big chop block to the bad Knee of Nakamura then a Glorious DTT for the Win.
Still NXT Champion – Bobby Roode
This match was simply Glorious! Another potential contender for one of the matches of the weekend.
The show went off the show very quickly, no sign of Nakamura leaving at this moment as there was none of the usual “bye bye NXT” kind of stuff was shown on camera at least, I guess if it does we will all hear about it (Check Twitter!).
This was a GREAT show, great great GREAT! It will be interesting to see if the matches on the Wrestlemania card will top what they have seen, for another year NXT have set the bar HIGH!
